September 15, 2014
Princeton Cemetery Commission
Meeting – Monday September 15, 2014
Town Hall Annex
Minutes

October 16, 2014

Present: Lou Trostel, Lynne Grettum, Ron Milenski, Andy Brown
Meeting Commenced – Approximately 7:03 pm in the Annex

We welcomed Ron Milenski, our new Cemetery Commissioner and Andy Brown, our new Superintendent.

Minutes of August Meeting were approved as written.

Summer help (Sam) will work about 25 hours/week until the leaves drop. Bruce wants to work more hours to balance out the labor.

Cemetery Operations
The superintendent submitted a detailed 2 ½ page summary of operations and suggestions.  Some high points are noted below.

Woodlawn Driveway Repair-
Work on the road was completed for $3400.

Equipment
The mower is in poor shape so we currently are using the Town Hall’s unit. A replacement is needed. Such a zero turn sit down riding unit for cemeteries will cost about $5200.
We should replace one of the trimmers with a commercial grade multiuse trimmer/brush cutter for about $300 to $350. We can afford to purchase this equipment now. All voted in favor of this purchase,
The truck is in the Highway Dept shop for front end work and tires so it can get an inspection sticker.

Cemetery Upgrades
Andy presented a review of upgrades possible in each of the 7 town cemeteries.  Several needs were mentioned in Boylston Cemetery - however this is not a town cemetery so Lynne will check out the responsibilities for maintenance of this cemetery.

Lot Sales
There were no lot sales

Burials
There were two cremation burials with two more planned.

Mapping
Andy is working on several mapping projects to better describe our cemeteries lots in use and available as well as the wetlands evaluation.

Next meeting
The next meeting of the Cemetery Commission is scheduled for Monday October 20th.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:53 PM
